Eligibility and Insurance Fee Notification

(Eligibility)
Student Visa (D-2), General Training Visa (D-4)

(Start Date)
① D-2 Visa: From the date of entry (first foreign registration date upon entry).
② F-4 Visa: From the date of school enrollment after entry (requires documents such as an enrollment certificate).

(Updated Fees)
Starting January 2024, the monthly insurance fee is KRW 75,490.

(Notification)
Notification will be sent by post to the address registered as the foreign registration or domestic residence.

Electronic Notifications and Automatic Payments

(Electronic Notification)
Send electronic documents via email or mobile upon request.

(Automatic Payments)
Monthly insurance fees automatically debited on the due date (25th of each month).
※ Late fees incurred daily after the due date, up to a maximum of 5%.

(Card Payment Fees)
To be borne by the individual: credit cards (0.8%), debit cards (0.5%).

(How to Apply)
Visit in person, call (1577-1000), fax to a local branch, or apply via the website or app (“The Health Insurance”).

(Payment Methods)
Automatic transfer, virtual account, or payment at financial institutions … card payments also available at kiosks during visits.

(Discounts)
KRW 200 discount applied monthly for completing prior month’s payment via automatic transfer and opting for email notification.

Other Information
(Coverage Restriction)
Insurance benefits are restricted from the 1st day of the following month if fees are unpaid (benefits restored upon full payment).
※ Medical expenses incurred during the unpaid period are not retroactively covered (e.g., payment on January 5th for January fees will not cover January 1st–4th).

(General Health Checkups)
Free for individuals aged 20 and above born in even-numbered years.
※ (Cervical Cancer Screening) Free for women aged 20 and above born in even-numbered years.
